I figure its good to force yourself through an idea/drawing you’re not 100% sure about now and then, rather than starting from scratch, as you can often surprise yourself with the results. So, I’ve been wrestling with this dude for a week or so, spending a little time each morning trying to approach his rendering in a different way, and resisting the urge to develop his physical shape beyond the first sketch.
This in turn, sparked studies to help get my message across more clearly. In this case, its a little look at the difference between old and young skin.
…I did get a little sick of the character in the end, and this crazy Zelda-ish cyclops dude appeared from nowhere.
